Objectives

Here at Aim Higher Training our aims and objectives are clear, we want to provide accurate and professional training to our trainnies to ensure they have all the knowledge on how to pass their Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid. The paediatric first aid course that we provide ensures that you will have the ability to perform under pressure paediatric first aid within the workplace to meet the workplace requirements. The 2 day course we provide makes sure that you are ready to undertake any task in an emergency. This course is more detailed due to the larger context and information which needs to be taught and processed.

Course Outline

This course is very important because if you either work or want to work in an environment where it involves childcare, an employer would want you to have completed this course inorder to actually be able to work within the work area which involves children. Within the course there are two units which needs to be completed within the 2 days of the course.
¬Have the ability to assess an emergency and be practical in what action to take.
¬Help an infant (baby) or child who is not responsive and breathing regularly.
¬Help an infant (baby) or child who is not responsive and not breathing regularly.
¬Help an infant (baby) or child who is having a seizure.
¬Help an infant (baby) or child who is choking.
¬Provide help to an infant (baby) or child who is bleeding.
¬Help an infant or child who is experiencing shock brought about by extreme blood loss (hypovolemic shock).
¬Have the ability to provide help to an infant (child) or youngster who is experiencing anaphylactic shock
¬Have the ability to provide help to an infant (child) or a kid who has had an electric shock.
¬Have the ability to provide help to an infant (child) or youngster who has burns or scalds.
¬Have the ability to provide help to an infant (child) or youngster with head, neck or back injuries.
¬Have the ability to provide help to an infant (child) or child who has been associated with being poisoned.
¬Help an infant or youngster with an intruding body in eyes, ears or nose.
¬Help an infant(baby) or youngster with eye damage.
¬Have the ability to provide help to an infant or kid with a bite or sting.
¬Help an infant or youngster who is experiencing the impacts of harsh warmth or cold
¬Help an infant or kid having: a diabetic crisis; an asthma attack; meningitis; febrile seizures; an unfavorably susceptible response.
¬Comprehend the job and duties of the paediatric first aider (a long side of knowing the correct contents of a medical aid box and the requirement for recording
accidents and occurrences)
Once you have completed the 2 day course and passed the assessments you will
be given a certificate for the right to practice pediatric first aid at a level 3.
this qualification is only valid for 3 years however we would recommend taking a
refreshers course once a year to ensure you are always prepared and ready for an
emergency within the workplace.
